01 Jun Collaboration with Bivo Watter Bottles
Ben Hicks X Bivo Water Bottles
Since I was a little grom, I loved to be outside, in the trees, on the trail or in the water.
Yes, there were video games and other distractions but my passion was for the outdoors, strongly influenced by my parents. When it came time to have a career (racing bikes wasn’t gonna cut it! ) after college, I discovered my passion for the outdoors and specifically the oceans could come to fruition with my cameras. Documenting the fascinating story of sea turtles and how they face the huge task of man-kind’s impact brought me closer to caring for what I loved, mother nature.
Whether it is riding bikes with my son or dad, surfing with them or sleeping under the stars, nature is always close by. Giving back just came natural for me and over the years I have tried my best to help out mother nature along the way through my work. Join me as I help conserve our worlds oceans and specifically sea turtles using less plastic and supporting The Sea Turtle Conservancy! Founded in 1959 with a mission to ensure the survival of sea turtles in the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific through research, education, training, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.
June 8th, 2024 – For World Ocean Day, the stainless steel cycling water bottle company Bivo is launching the Sea Turtle Bottle, with 100% of profits going to the Sea Turtle Conservancy to protect sea turtles.
“Made in collaboration with South-Florida based photographer, environmental advocate and avid cyclist, Ben Hicks, these bottles feature laser-engraved sea turtle artwork meant to highlight the concerns around plastic debris in the ocean and how that’s impacting sea turtles and other marine life,” Bivo states. “Partnering with Ben Hicks was natural for Bivo. Ben’s goal of raising awareness of the impact of plastic on marine life aligns with Bivo’s commitment to help athletes drink out of less plastic for health and environmental reasons.”
