15 Oct Hurricane Ian Relief prints fundrasier Recap with Toyota and Rain Water
What an amazing opportunity I had to grasp my resources and help our neighbors on the west coast of Florida during their cleanup and recovery process after Hurricane Ian battered the area! We raised more than $1300 in print sales to gather supplies! We also had a ton of supplies donated to take over, including an entire pallet of water provided by Rain Water! Last week my self and Dustin Wright from Atlantic Current Magazine joined forces and packed our 2022 Toyota Tundra Platinum that Toyota USA and Southeast Toyota dealers sent in for use to use! We drove directly to the hardest hit and poorest neighborhood, Harlem Heights in Fort Myers, Florida. Unloading about 75% of our supplies to Gladiolus Food Pantry, including a brand new generator for them to use for visiting chefs in the parking lot to feed the needy. The Kitchen is a grass roots program, turned into hurricane relief center run but lots of amazing volunteers.
We then headed to Heights Community center around the corner to drop off more supplies to them as well as a lot of Rain Water in aluminum bottles (not plastic!!). The generosity of people coming to me for help on this has been amazing! We couldn’t of done it without my amazing customers! The Toyota Tundra made it so much easier to take everything in one trip! Thank you all for your help in a very successful mission. Donations are still coming in but print sales are over. We will continue to take those donations and give directly to Gladiolus food kitchen! You can donate directly to them as well!
