My work with the Sea Turtle Conservancy to tell their conservation mission
In collaboration with “Gimme Seaweed” and the Sea Turtle Conservancy, I spent a week in Tortuguero, Costa Rica, this October. I wanted to visit the Sea Turtle Conservancy to witness the global impact they are making in conservation and to document my passion for sea turtles.
During my stay in Tortuguero, the Sea Turtle Conservancy made me feel like I was part of the family. I was able to contribute to making a valuable impact and learned a lot about the local area.
An interesting fact about Costa Rica is that it’s the only place in the world where jaguars eat sea turtles.
Knowing this, I was very excited about the chance of seeing a jaguar. After hearing stories from others about their encounters, and just barely missing a sighting twice, I sadly didn’t get to see one.
